European Environment Day

European  Environment Day was initiated  by  the E U  in order to draw attention to the needs  of   environmental sustainability.

 Looking around, you will notice how beautiful our nature is. Everything that surrounds us - the blue sky, the trees, the air is our environment. And each of us must contribute to preserving and protecting the environment. We have been tapping too much from nature, and in return we produce poisonous waste and gases. Deforestation, drainage of water reservoirs, loss of natural habitats - in a word, humans disrupt the natural cycles, break the ecological cycles, and destroy ecosystems. By the beginning of the third Millennium 65 species of mammals, 140 species of birds had disappeared from the planet  forever . One out of every 10 species of   plants is on the verge of extinction.

That is why the Red List of Threatened Species has been  drawn up  and  the world  protected natural areas,   preserves,   wildlife refuges have been  created to save rare species of animals and plants.

It is very important for us living amongst asphalt and concrete, to be environmentally educated, cherish all living things around us. In our School we pay particular attention to environmental education of school children. In the lessons and during extracurricular activities our pupils develop their environmental awareness  and  expand their  knowledge of the planet and  the need to preserve  and care  for its flora and fauna.

IT IS OUR DUTY TO PROTECT OUR  COUNTRY’S WILDLIFE
