All people remember these lines from Gogol's immortal comedy "Inspector". But for the 8th form students from the Linguistics school this meeting with the famous writer's characters in the Maly theatre on Ordynka stage has turned out to be very instructive. Even now every Russian city has its own Skvoznic-Dmukhanovsky type, and even today some curators of charitable institutions don't think twice about quoting Gogol's well-known character "the nearer to nature the better. We do not use expensive medicine. " Regrettably, not much has changed in Russian reality in some aspects. But it's great that there was Gogol's splendid language, his brilliant humor and subtle satire. You really want to exclaim, "Bravo, Nikolay Vasilyevich Gogol! Cheers to actors of the Maly theatre!" Students’ impression of the performance will stay with them for a long time.
