The history of Russian and English tea traditions
On 18th of March an ‘ Open Lesson “ was held for the 5th form pupils. It was the final stage of their project work supervised by Marina Yuryevna Birukova, teacher of World Art. The theme of this project was the history of Russian and English tea traditions.
During the lesson pupils set out on an exciting journey into the history of Russian and English tea traditions. They learned about the time when this flavored drink appeared in Rus` and in England, about the design and history of the samovar and they also learned the secrets of how the table is laid in Russia and in England.
Participants and guests of the event listened to the history of «Five o`clock tea» tradition and how today this tradition is followed. In the end of the lesson all the guests and pupils of the 5th form set at the table, drinking flavored tea and eating sweets.
