Meeting Bulgakov at the
“Never talk to strangers”. This is a quote from our beloved novel by Mikhail Bulgakov “The Master and Margarita». However, the writer is by no means a stranger to us. We feel as if we knew him in person, having met him hiding between the lines of his manifold works, such as “A Country Doctor’s Notebook”, “Heart of a Dog”, “The White Guard”. And as though to meet a good friend 11th form pupils went to his flat, located on Bolshaya Sadovaya street no. 10, apartment №50. Having barely set foot in the house, they were astonished by the entrance's walls covered with anonymous notes, comprising various quotes from the novel, salutations to Master and even letters to Woland. Their guide, Ivan, awaited them inside the building. With abandon, he talked to the pupils about Mikhail Afanasyevich's fate and obstacles he had to surmount, about love that fueled his existence and an unquenchable thirst for creation. Reluctantly they left the flat, able to proclaim assuredly: "Bulgakov is not a stranger!".
