On 2nd September, 2013 the long awaited new school year came to Linguistics School gathering together well-rested and tanned pupils and their parents, anxious teachers and dear guests to celebrate the Day of Knowledge.

It’s a special celebration: kind, bright, optimistic and close to everyone’s hearts! No matter what dizzy heights a person may reach, the climb starts with school. It is in the classroom that a person learns the joys of communication and creativity while coming to grips with the world and oneself.

The whole School got together on its home grounds reveling in greenery and dancing colour in order to hear the first bell of the new school year in anticipation of new feats and projects that will be achieved.

9th form pupil, Daniil Nikitin, and 10b pupil, Darina Ivanova, performed their musical greetings.

The School’s General Director, Vice-Chancellor of Moscow Institute of Foreign Languages, Co-Chair of Russian Academy of Science Education Commission, Deputy Chair of Russian Academy of Science Council for the study and protection of cultural and environmental heritage, Amet Aleksandrovich Volodarsky joyfully imparted, “This year our School has opened 5th and 6th forms. As of October we will begin implementing extra-curricular educational programmes: a pottery workshop, photostudio, music salon, guitar lessons and much more. The School’s press-centre is to embark on a new project to bring together our newspaper, Youth News, School TV and Radio. Our traditional Language Club will also offer new interesting projects.”

Director of British Programmes, Daryl McCreery, greeted pupils in English and also awarded Cambridge Language Assessment Certificates.

The tinkling bell in the hands of pupil, Anzhelika Vilkova, signaled the beginning of the new school year.

School Principal, Elena Vladimirovna Cherniysheva, pronounced the following words of welcome, “We hope that in the coming year your educational endeavors will bring you joy and success. Dream! This is a day for great plans and expectations. May they come to fruition!”
